Hi Catsters!

I’m Crystal. I work within the advertising and marketing division for Catster. You might have seen a few of my posts on our social media and listened to a few of my tales on our YouTube channel.

Growing up, we all the time had canine. I thought of myself to be a canine particular person! That was till I moved in with my fiance, had a spot of my very own, and met my soul cat, Ivy.

My fiance must depart city usually for work, leaving me alone in a quiet home. One factor to find out about me: I HATE being alone.

As we lived in a fancy, it’d be unfair to have a canine in such a small house. The yard was teeny tiny, and with so many residents already complaining about different canine within the advanced, I needed to search for different choices to seek out companionship.

This was after I set my coronary heart on adopting a cat. With so many lovely kitties ready for his or her ceaselessly houses in shelters, probably the most tough half was convincing my fiance. I begged, I pleaded (I maybe even cried) for weeks on finish.

Eventually, he gave in. I already had so many adoption posters saved on social media, and I discovered it unattainable to decide on one. Why couldn’t I’ve all of them?

One day, I opened Facebook and noticed this publish:

I can’t clarify it, however I knew this was meant to be my cat. I instantly referred to as the quantity. The woman stated that as a result of this kitty has such a novel coat and is long-haired, there was a whole lot of curiosity already, however she would hold me up to date.

Later that day, she gave me a name and let me know what I’d need to do to ensure that her to resolve whether or not I used to be the most effective potential cat mother – I needed to ship by a video of our house, a pet approval doc from our advanced, and be ready to pay an adoption price of round $150. This would come with her first vaccinations and spaying process.

Long story brief, two days and a whole lot of preparation later, I used to be on the way in which to select up my kitty after she had been spayed!

I knew I’d love her, after all, however I used to be so nervous. Would she love me? Would I be cat mother? Would she solely be round when it was feeding time?

Just picked up!Just picked up!

All of these worries have been put to mattress just about instantly. She was pleasant and affectionate and appeared really grateful to have discovered a secure, loving house with us. Over time, with a whole lot of endurance and reassurance (and treats), we constructed a tremendous relationship.

The bond I’ve with my cat is in contrast to every other bond I’ve had with earlier animals we’ve owned.

And sure, my fiance adores her – she stole his coronary heart the second he laid eyes on her and now accompanies him whereas he will get prepared for work early within the mornings.

Of course, cat possession doesn’t come with out its personal set of distinctive hurdles and challenges…

I’ll be sharing some extra of my life with Ivy – the nice, the dangerous, and the ugly – on Catster.com within the weeks to return!
