Ah, the generational divide. Always good for some laughs, particularly in an NFL coaching facility.

“I don’t view myself as an old person,” Jets QB Joe Flacco, a mere 37 years of age, stated after Sunday’s coaching camp follow. “But every now and then, when these guys come up and say something to you, ‘OK, you think I’m 50 years old. I got it.’ “

But similar to many conditions wherein the younger dudes trash-talking the dad dude, Flacco, who’s moved into the beginning position whereas Zach Wilson rehabs his knee for the following month, simply eats it up, like within the gamers’ eating room.

“I’m the old guy you can pick on, he really doesn’t care, says some crazy stuff sometimes that these guys probably never heard before. A lot of that is that generational thing.

“That’s why it is so cool, to be within the locker room, in that surroundings. It actually does hold you younger.”

Of course, quarterbacking within the NFL is a bit totally different than chewing the fats with the youngsters within the enterprise workplace. Tom Brady however, 37 is the periphery for many NFL signal-callers, a lot of whom have already hung up the pads and develop into broadcasters or coaches or moved right into a staff’s govt suite.

But head coach Robert Saleh confirmed the anticipated on Sunday, that Flacco would be the beginning QB for the Jets’ preseason dwelling video games vs. Atlanta and the Giants, plus all of the practices in between, together with three joint practices with these groups mixed.
