Elizabeth Dellapietro started her day as she all the time does by permitting her 12-year-old small canine, Tilly, out to do her enterprise. “Rabies is a very serious illness,” Dr. Morrone said.
Thankfully, Elizabeth was in a position to thrust back the rabid raccoon’s jaws and rush her canine to the veterinarian for therapy. Tilly obtained leg accidents in addition to a damaged toe after being bitten by a rabid raccoon. As a precautionary measure, her mom is receiving rabies pictures.

She is completely shaken up by the incident, and now she is afraid to let her canines out. She carries a baseball bat together with her and should bear at the least 4 rounds of rabies vaccines over a two-week time-frame. The rabid raccoon stays at giant, which is a trigger for main concern locally. Residents are urged to maintain rubbish cans closed tightly and to not go away meals outdoors. If a raccoon is noticed behaving unusually, enterprise administrator Michael Muscillo asks residents to name the police.
“If it’s exhibiting strange signs if it’s drooling, or those types of issues, we are asking residents stay away and call (police) immediately,” Muscillo shared.
