The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health’s Facebook followers have chosen Cindy Orndorff’s photograph of “Daisy” because the winner of our 2022 Best Barn Dog contest. She will obtain a prize pack from Vitalize K9 for her successful entry.
We requested reader to share images of their canine counterparts and inform us what qualities make their canine one of the best barn canine. TheHorse.com Facebook followers then voted for his or her favorites.
In her entry, Orndorff stated: “Meet the best barn dog, Daisy. She will be 14 years young in October. She is the best barn dog because she is nice and gentle around all of the horses. She even rides in the saddle with them. She will follow around the barn/farm and doesn’t stray far away. She loves to help feed the horses and chicken (that she doesn’t even chase). And when the day is done, she loves to sit in the chair under the gooseneck and keep her eye on everything/everyone. She’s a wonderful girl and we are blessed to have her.”
